WELCOME

I'm Stephen Pryke and I'm a multi-genre composer, sound designer and sonic artist. A self-proclaimed Sonic Architect, I have a passion for blending music and sound design to create intriguing and immersive sonic experiences. I like to take an experimental, yet methodical, approach to my work, exploring the possibilities of sound to fully envelope the audience.
I studied at the University of Hertfordshire, graduating with a First Class BSc (Hons) degree in 'Music & Sound Design Technology' (2021) and an MSc degree with Distinction in 'Music & Sound for Film & Games' (2022).
In 2022, I worked on my first professional project as a one-man sound department for psychological drama, 'PAN', a short film directed by Mariana Salek, which has so far had 12 film festivals selections, receiving 3 nominations and 3 wins. In 2023, I reprised my role as composer and sound designer in Salek's following project, 'He Asked For It', which has since made 2 festival selections.

Alongside my long-time friend and fellow artist, Lewis Matta (a.k.a. Wuji.fx), I'm a co-founder of 'Mind Zi Records', a North Hertfordshire based independent multimedia record label and artistic collective. With an ever-growing roster of artists - all of whom make music in different styles, yet share the same passion for music overall - we have started to build a community where people can express themselves with full creative control and artistic freedom. Our various influences, coupled with the fact that we have all become friends, encourages inter-artist collaborations, which has led to some incredible, multi-genre albums, such as '3.5D', 'Error:Null', 'Boundaries' and the multi-volume '3.5D²' series. And through putting on live events and producing other content, such as image packs and merchandise, we have been able to reach a wider audience of people who share and understand our passion.
